We spent an extended weekend in Holden Seaside, NC for a household reunion. Right here’s the recap!
Household Reunion in Holden Seaside
The Craig household is additional giant and further enjoyable! Thomas’s mother, Eileen, has 5 siblings. 4 of the Craigs and their children and grandkids met in Holden Seaside for a long-awaited household reunion. They hadn’t had one since earlier than I joined the household in 2017. Whereas a couple of key gamers had been lacking, it was nice to see everybody in actual life. A giant group flew in from the West Coast, and others got here from Tennessee and Georgia. Plus us – the Cville crew!
We selected Holden Seaside as a central assembly zone and since Thomas’s cousin, Andrea, did a superb job planning the weekend and hooking us up with a coworkers home. The home was SO properly adorned, nicely appointed, and had plenty of bedrooms and an important pool.
That’s me floating within the higher proper under. Pure heaven to drift in a pool! I’m carrying a brand new ?Carve Designs? swimsuit – they make the perfect fits! It’s the ?Dahlia?. I additionally love the ?Tofino high? that’s like a sports activities bra and you may combine and match with bottoms you have already got!
We had been a brief stroll to the seashore, too.

Sadly it was SO HOT with a warmth index over 100. We actually needed to be IN the water to chill off, and the water was 90 levels!! Fortunately the home had good air con. We spent plenty of time on the seashore and pool.

Dinners
We had 21 individuals at our max, so dinners needed to be nicely coordinated. The primary night time we ordered a bunch of pizzas (and had extra for leftovers the following day). The following night time John Donne took the lead with BBQ hen, grits, beans from his backyard, and corn on the cob. I someway didn’t get a photograph of this occasion!
The following night time was taco night time by the West Coast Craigs.

Our closing night time was take-out BBQ with home made succotash.

We had been on our personal for these meals – typical seashore favorites of sandwiches and yogurt / cereal bowls.
We hope to have one other reunion inside three years – or 1,000 sunsets!
